That’s still insane when you stop and think about it.

You type a question into a box and get a complete answer. Sometimes it’s exactly what you needed. Sometimes the machine walks confidently into a wall and asks you to admire the architecture.

The magic makes it easy to expect too much from these systems.

They don’t wake up with judgment, taste, memory, or any reason to care whether your business works. They respond to the context and instructions you give them.

Good context produces useful work. Weak context produces polished nonsense.

I learned this early with Perplexity. I kept returning because it could search the internet, pull together current information, and give me a useful starting point without sending me through twenty tabs.

That speed mattered.

During a real work session, every extra step gives you another chance to lose the thought. Slow research postpones the decision. A document buried in another app becomes something you’ll “find later.” Copying the same background into three models makes the work feel heavier than it is.

Then the flow is gone.

Most people already have more than enough software.

Google Drive holds the files.

Notion holds the ideas and plans.

Databases hold the facts.

GitHub holds the code.

The iPhone catches thoughts on the move.

The iPad gives me a quiet place to read and think.

ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, and local models each handle different work well.

Each tool lives in its own little world, so you become the human copy-and-paste API between them.

I got tired of doing that job.

One place to begin

The idea behind alphaOS is simple: I should be able to sit down and write.

I shouldn’t have to choose an app before I understand the thought. I shouldn’t have to remember which model is best for the task or where the relevant context lives. I start with the work, and the system routes the rest.

Research can go to Perplexity. Claude can help with a careful long-form draft. ChatGPT can reason through a problem, work with files, or write code. Gemini can reach the Google context. Private work can stay on a local model. Hermes can take a job that needs to keep running after I close the laptop.

The model is a worker. The operating system holds the context, standards, and memory behind the job.

People keep asking which AI model is best. I think the useful question now is: how quickly can I send a thought to the right model with the right data, without rebuilding the context?

If that requires six tabs, an old prompt, a downloaded file, another upload, and a fresh explanation of your entire life, the model’s intelligence barely matters.

Friction won.

alphaOS connects the places where I already work:

Writing and plans in Notion

Files in Google Drive

Code in GitHub

Business data in databases

Work across my iPhone, iPad, and Mac

The AI models and agents I choose for each job

I never wanted to replace those tools. I wanted them to stop acting like strangers.

The four-part flow

Building alphaOS forced me to define what a useful AI workflow actually needs.

1. Start with the thought

Don’t choose the software yet.

Write what you’re trying to do in plain language. Put down the unfinished thought, the frustration, the half-built idea, or the outcome you want.

Thinking rarely arrives in neat form. The first interface should give it room to be messy.

2. Bring in the right context

The system should know where your work lives and pull only what the job needs.

A newsletter may need raw notes, past writing, audience context, and current research. A coding task may need the repository, the issue, and your last decision. Client work may depend on a proposal, call notes, and delivery status.

You shouldn’t have to retell the story every time.

3. Give the job to the right model

Model strengths change constantly. Tying an entire system to one company makes no sense to me.

I want the freedom to use ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Hermes, or something running on my machine. The job should determine the model while the workflow stays intact.

4. Put the result where it belongs

This is where most AI workflows break.

An answer appears in a chat. You skim it. Then it joins the other 400 conversations in the sidebar.

Useful output needs a destination. A draft returns to the writing system. Research stays attached to the decision it informed. Code lands in the repository. Tasks go somewhere they can be completed.

Without that final step, you’re collecting answers instead of building momentum.

Why I’m sharing it

I built alphaOS for myself first.

It works with the tools I already use. I can sit down, start writing, and follow the thought without stopping to rebuild the path around it.

That feeling is the product.

The command center, model routing, and agents all matter. But the real benefit is quieter: I can stay with the work.

An idea can become research. Research can become a draft. The draft can become something finished. I don’t have to spend the day carrying context between a dozen apps.

Now I want other builders, freelancers, and creators to use it. Especially the people who are done watching AI demos and want their existing tools to work together.

If you want early access to alphaOS, reply to this email with:

“I am in.”

I’ll set up a call, show you how I use it, and help you build your own flow.

AI Destroyed My Sleep Schedule (My Oura Ring Is NOT Happy)

AI can now turn an idea into something real before your brain remembers it needs sleep.

Brian Decoded

AI completely destroyed my sleep.

Fable comes out, and I want to meet my weekly limits. The tools keep going, the ideas keep arriving, and your brain keeps trying to close another loop:

What else could I build?

But it’s also creating opportunities that didn’t exist six days ago.

Professional gaming prepared me for this era. Just a tightness low in the spine, the kind you stretch out and forget about, until hour six, when it’s not asking anymore.

If that’s familiar, you’re not imagining it and you’re not out of shape. Office workers in the U.S. report low back pain at a rate of roughly 25.7%. And it’s not evenly distributed by effort: one workplace study found sitting for most of the day drives roughly a 3.5-fold increase in chronic low back pain compared to workers who sit less. That chair keeps a running total, whether you feel it accumulating or not.

I know this one personally. Years of desk time left me with the kind of back pain that doesn’t announce itself, it just quietly rules things out. Long dinners. Long flights. Standing through an entire meeting because sitting through it wasn’t an option that day.

When I quit my job, I didn’t only quit a job. I quit a lifestyle.

I hate sitting. I mean that plainly, not as a personality quirk. Eight hours in a chair feels like paying rent on my own body.

And the back is only half of it.

What the chair is actually doing to you

The back is the part you feel. The part you don’t feel is worse.

Sitting under constant work stress keeps cortisol elevated. Cortisol tracks your heart, not your mood. A pooled analysis of more than 43,000 people found that those with higher stress hormone levels carried a 63% higher risk of cardiovascular disease than those with lower levels. A separate study published in the journal Hypertension tracked adults for over a decade and found that every time cortisol levels doubled, the risk of a cardiovascular event rose by 90%.

You won’t see that cost on a productivity report. You’ll see it years later, arriving like a bill with interest.

Now for the good part.

Walking does the opposite of all of it. Stanford researchers Marily Oppezzo and Daniel Schwartz put this to an actual test in 2014: people walking on a treadmill scored roughly 60% higher on creative-thinking tasks than people sitting still, and 81% of participants improved specifically on the test built to measure divergent thinking, the kind where you’re generating ideas instead of picking from a list. The effect held whether they walked outside or on a treadmill facing a blank wall. What mattered was the movement, not the scenery.

So the body wants you standing and the mind gets sharper while you do it. Somewhere along the way we built entire careers that require neither.

I spent years trying to square that circle. Here’s what it looked like.

The one job that fit on a walk

For a long time I solved this halfway. I walked constantly, twenty thousand steps some days, and I filled that time the only way the phone in my pocket would let me: talking to people.

Sales calls, mostly, plus check-ins with employees and conversations with business owners and partners who could actually move something forward for a client. It worked, and I built real relationships that way, and I don’t regret a single one of those hours.

Here’s the part I didn’t say out loud back then: I felt guilty about it. It worked, and it looked productive from the outside, but I knew I was only walking-and-working because sales happened to be the one category of work that fit through my mouth. Everything else, the code, the websites, the newsletters, still needed someone sitting at a desk, and that someone was usually me, later, indoors, back in the chair I’d just escaped.

And even the work I did manage to hand off didn’t survive the handoff clean. I’d describe what I wanted to an employee mid-walk. The employee would absorb some percentage of it, then pass their version of my version to whichever AI tool we were using. What came back wasn’t my vision, it was a guess about a guess.

Until now.

Then voice mode became agentic

ChatGPT’s voice mode used to be dictation with a personality. You’d talk, it would type, and you still had to go do the thing yourself when you got home.

Agentic voice mode is a different category, and it’s the category that finally closes that gap. There’s no employee in the middle absorbing seventy percent of what I meant and handing off their own guess. An agent takes intent. Every tool before it took input.

Say “the fulfillment queue backed up again, find out why and fix it” into a text box and it’s a note to self. Say it into an agent and it’s already running before you finish the sentence, and what comes back is what you actually meant, not a guess about a guess.

That single difference is what let the walk absorb the rest of the business, not just the parts that ran on conversation.

The mechanics are unglamorous. ChatGPT voice on my phone as the interface, remote access into my desktop where the real work lives, one agent supervising another so I’m several layers up from the keyboard and the output still lands. None of it is exotic. All of it had to exist before the walk could become a full workday instead of half of one.

(Moving your agents onto something that keeps running while you’re outside is the whole second workshop of the Agentic Business Sprint, and it’s the same setup that let me run the company from an iPhone for five months.)

So what does a day like that actually look like?

Twenty thousand steps, four departments

Here’s an actual session. I’m ten thousand steps in, running four jobs at once. Sales conversations move forward through voice. Fulfillment gets checked and corrected mid-stride. Somewhere else, actual building happens on a machine I’m not touching. And marketing gets drafted, reviewed, and queued before I’m back at my front door.

By the time the counter crosses twenty thousand, all four departments have moved, on the same walk that used to carry one.

Multitasking used to mean doing four things badly at the same time. This is closer to conducting: each agent holds its own thread, and I move between them just by saying so.

And it gets better. It doesn’t stop at my own agents. I drop into servers where specialized agents live and pull them into whatever I’m working on, and when I need something my own systems don’t know yet, I bring in frontier AI directly and get it in real time, mid-walk, instead of waiting until I’m back at a desk to look it up.

The walk stopped being time away from the business. It became the highest-bandwidth hour of my day.

Want to run the same test without any of my stack? It’s simpler than you think.

Go back through last week and find one task that only lives at your desk because that’s where you happened to be the first time you did it. An approval. A status check. A draft review. Hand that one task to an agent this week and take it outside. If it comes back done, the desk was never the requirement.

The back pain is still real. The stats are still true. But the choice that used to sit between my spine and my company doesn’t have to get made anymore.

Reply and tell me the one task at your desk right now that has no real reason to be at a desk. Stack enough of them and what you own starts looking less like a business and more like a job with better branding.

The Agentic Business Sprint is eight weeks of taking those dependencies apart one at a time, across four workshops: getting clients with AI, moving your business into the cloud, building your founder-led marketing engine, and building AOS, your Agent Operating System. Eight weeks to build it, twelve weeks of me on call while it runs.

$997, founding round. If you’re on this list because you’re already in the cohort, or you’ve been circling it waiting for the right moment, you deserve the real version of why. Not the vague “stepping back to focus on other priorities” line people use when they don’t want to explain themselves.

Here’s what happened.

The client who was right about her own team

A SaaS founder came to me convinced her web development team wasn’t doing enough. She was right. Her team’s idea of “AI adoption” was dropping a few skill files into VS Code and calling it a day. No agents actually running. No workflows automated. The business was moving at the speed you’d expect from a team that thinks a config file is a strategy.

I pitched her a training session. Teach her people how to actually use this stuff.

She asked me to just implement it instead.

So I built her a proposal: $22,000 to go in and do the work myself. Real agents, real automation, an actual operating layer instead of a folder of prompts nobody opens twice. She bought it on the third conversation.

Here’s the number that matters. I’d calculated I needed to sell 20 cohort seats to hit the same revenue as one implementation client. One whale, three sales calls, and the math on “teach people to fish” versus “just come fish for them” got very uncomfortable, very fast.

Why I paused instead of just squeezing it in

I could have kept the cohort’s timeline and treated the client work as a side project. I didn’t, because the client work wasn’t a distraction from the cohort. It was the most honest market research I’ve gotten all year.

Working inside a real company, with a real dev team that genuinely believed skill files equal agents, showed me something the cohort curriculum wasn’t built to handle yet: the basics I thought people needed, and the basics people actually need, are diverging. Fast.

Most “AI education” right now teaches people how to prompt better. This client’s team could prompt fine. What they couldn’t do was operate. There’s a canyon between “I know how to talk to an AI” and “I have an agent operating system running my business while I sleep,” and almost nobody selling AI education is addressing the second thing, because it’s harder to teach and harder to sell in a six-slide webinar.

The pause forced something useful: a full rewrite of the curriculum. I’m not walking back into the Sprint with the same material three weeks later just because the calendar moved. I’m walking back in with a curriculum that got stress-tested against a live $22K engagement instead of a whiteboard.

Where the cohort stands right now

If you’re already in the Agentic Business Sprint: existing members get a meet and greet this Friday. That comes with extended access and early access to the reworked content, ahead of everyone else. The first real workshop lands in three to four weeks, once the curriculum reflects what I actually just learned instead of what I assumed going in.

If you’ve been on the fence about joining: the door is open through Friday, and if you buy in before then, you get complimentary 1:1s stacked on top of the regular workshop calls. That offer goes away Friday. That’s the real date the current cohort’s access window locks and the new curriculum work starts in earnest.

The Sprint still does what it always did: get you clients with AI, help you fulfill without becoming the bottleneck yourself, and move the whole operation into an agent operating system instead of a stack of tabs and reminders. What’s changing is how seriously it treats the gap between installing something and automating something, because I just got paid $22,000 to prove that’s where the real money is.

If you want in before Friday: Agentic Business Sprint

Read this Before you make your next hire (to build a 100x business)

Strategies we deployed to go down from 25 to 12 hires, without sacrificing work quality.

Brian Decoded

Strategies we deployed to go down from 25 to 12 hires (without sacrificing work quality)

Few days ago I talked to my dad, and he asked me:

“How do you make AI do the work for you?”

My family and friends know that I spend too much time on AI as it is.
